Watermelon, feta, and blueberries

Watermelon and summer feel almost like synonyms to me. I don’t remember to have any get together or party or even playdate for kids at home in the summer without watermelon. This is one fruit I have seen every kid enjoying the same way. There were days when my kids skipped lunch and had only watermelon. Since they love it so much, the year before last, we decided to plant a few seeds. After a couple of months, one evening about ten kids from our neighborhood did a “watermelon picking” in our backyard with every single kid picking his or her own watermelon, and that remains as one of the best memories ever!
